Empty Tomb Ministry
Mission Statement
Empty Tomb Ministry is a Biblically focused Christian Apologetics ministry focused on answering two calls in Holy Scripture.
First: to stand and give a reason for our faith. (1 Peter 3:15) Second: to stand in the darkness and be a light to the world. (Matthew 5:14-16)
Empty Tomb Ministry will fulfill these calls through the four main pillars or components of its ministry. The four pillars are:
1. Educate. The ministry wishes to educate two groups of people.
A. Believers. Empty Tomb desires to help Christian believers find answers for their own questions about their faith and how to answer the questions and attacks they receive from non-believers and skeptics.
B. Non-Believers and Skeptics. The information presented is also to those that do not believe or are skeptical or are in total rejection of the truth. The ministry hopes its publicly available work is used to answer even the non-believer on the Christian faith.
2. Defend. The second pillar is to stand and defend faith and truth. As an apologetics ministry, our founding purpose is to stand and give apologia. Through its many works the ministry will stand to defend the attacks, skepticism, lies, and false claims about the Christian faith. It will also stand and give an answer to honest inquiry and rigorous debate. In doing so a by-product of the ministry fulfilling this pillar will aid and strengthen the believer in their own ability to do the same which naturally leads to the third pillar.
3. Strengthen. The ministry knows many Christians simply do not have answers to the hard questions. They do not know how to answer the skeptic. They cannot counter against attacks on their faith. It is far too common for Christians to fall out of faith because of this. This pillar is the ministry focusing on strengthening Christians regardless of their length of time in the church or even in their own Christian maturity. When one becomes more versed in Christian apologetics, it strengthens one’s own faith. When people have answers, when they can see through the scrutiny and attacks of the world, their own faith and relationship with Christ can be strengthened. Regardless of Biblical or faith maturity, Pastor, lay-person, and new believer alike can be strengthened in their faith and walk with Christ with solid apologetics.
4. Draw. The final pillar of the mission statement is to draw people. Our hope and prayers are that through our content and ministry, those who are not in a relationship with Christ and a part of the Christian family and the Kingdom of Christ can have a seed planted that will draw them in. As much as the ministry is to strengthen those who are believers, it is our prayer that our work is also used by God to be a seed in the heart of somebody that needs to hear the truth. Our hope is that somebody who needs to come to Christ will hear an apologetic answer to one of their doubts about God or understand a truth about Christ. If we are faithfully engaged in the first three pillars of our mission statement, as the Holy Spirit works through us and Christ sees fit, Empty Tomb Ministry will be in no doubt fulfilling the fourth pillar of our mission.
